Jan Carley BA, CEC, MCC, is a possibility catalyst specializing in coaching individuals and teams to clarify their vision and leverage their signature strengths to maximize performance potential. As a Master Certified Coach credentialed with the International Coaching Federation and CEO of Creative Coaching Group, she inspires leaders globally to smash limiting paradigms that are barriers to their success. Jan then supports those leaders as they create transformative new possibilities and shifts in their lives and organizational culture. Jan draws on her more than 25 years experience working in the professional non-profit world of the theatre arts to bring a progressive whole-brained approach to her coaching programs.

Besides her one-on-one work with executives and her coaching and facilitation of their leadership teams, Jan has established an important niche globally as the Inner Coach of Barbershop. In that role she has inspired dozens of internationally competitive a cappella choruses, choral directors, board and music leadership teams, and thousands of singers worldwide to shift and expand their mindsets and chorus cultures to ones of positivity and excellence. These shifts generate renewed energy and alignment of their organizational cultures as well as significant performance results. Jan is the Inner Mastery Coach of the 2024 International Gold-Medal award-winning Lions Gate Chorus from Vancouver, BC  and has been singing with them since 1994.  Jan is also Lead of Fandango Quartet, the 2014 western Canada Open Division Audience Choice Winning Quartet.

In The Overtone Effect, Jan uses the metaphor of a musical "overtone" to create a system for extraordinary success. Jan’s popular first book, Harmony from the Inside Out – Creating and Maximizing your Performance Potential, has been critically acclaimed worldwide and is now in its third printing.

Jan is Associate Faculty at Royal Roads University in British Columbia, Canada and taught the coaching foundations and personal mastery components of their prestigious and highly-regarded Executive Coaching Program for a decade. She is also a Certified facilitator of the Strength Deployment Inventory ®, a tool for improving communication and relationship effectiveness and managing and reducing the costs of conflict.
